Comments about Xantech 291-10 Table Top IR Receiver:
The receiver worked as advertised as long as you get the power supply. I thought I could plug it into the back of my Sony receiver and use it without the emitter. It doesn't work!
When I put the emitter over the window on my Sony receiver it works like a charm. I am very happy with the function and performance of my system.
The sales people said they don't recommend using the single mini emitter with the Xantech Receiver and Power Supply because it isn't a Xantech product. However it works very well with the single Mini Emitter.
Just don't try to plug this unit into the IR receiver port on the back of your Sony receiver. I don't know what will work but this system won't.

Comments about Xantech 291-10 Table Top IR Receiver:
This unit is a redesign of a previous model. It looks good and will work with CRT and DLP TVs in the room. It will not work with LCD or Plasma TVs.
When the set warms up it overdrives the IR repeater for a couple minutes and the receiver will not accept any further commands. With the demise of CRT and DLP sets this device will become useless.
